Whilst travelling around we were constantly in and out of mobile range – sometimes for days at a time..
It was however sometimes surprising to be in a fairly remote place and have full signal and super fast 3G internet.

So how did the internet etc get there? Well… following the road down from Alice Springs were these solar powered optic fibre repeater stations:

Then after turning off the main highway every 70 kilometres or so on the side of the road to Yulara were these solar powered radio repeaters:

Good fun climbing to the top of that to replace something when it gets struck by lightning…
